Our Wild sockeye salmon, fresh from the icy waters of the North Pacific, comes only from abundant, sustainable runs and is harvested in specific migration routes to avoid harming less abundant species. This careful sourcing reflects our work with salmon conservation organizations and select fishermen and processors to make positive changes within the industry. Our Lightly Smoked Wild Sockeye Salmon is made with fish harvested from the Situk River, near Yakutat, Alaska. This is a small, community-based fishery, using short-soak set nets with a low by-catch rate. Because the fishing takes place in the river itself - as opposed to the open ocean where many salmon stocks mingle - the fishermen are able to target a specific, sustainable salmon population. But the true test lies in the taste. We’ve worked with our favorite chefs to create the kind of delicious, wholesome food we like to share with friends on the trail and at home. In other words, this is good food. For you and the planet. A light smoking process and with a touch of lemon pepper highlight the sockeye salmon to create a true delicacy. This 6 oz portion of delicious, lightly smoked wild Sockeye salmon is fully cooked and ready to eat. • Unopened package requires no refrigeration and is pack, dry-bag and shelf stable. • Enjoy as is, or for a hot meal, heat the sealed package in hot water for 7 minutes. • Open, drain and serve over your favorite rice, grain or greens. • Once pouch is opened, keep refrigerated and eat within 3 days.
